The recorder enables you to record audio input and manage your recordings.
Recording configuration
In order to do a proper recording, you should use a microphone. Particularly if you need to play tanpura or tabla with your phone at the same time.
Here is an example, which works nicely:
This example uses:
- A phone
- If required, a lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter
- A Rode SC6 device, which enables you to plug at the same time one microphone along with a headphone
- A Lavalier TRRS microphone (like Rode SmartLav+, Shure Motiv MVL/A, …)
- A headphone
This is a comfortable configuration, at a very reasonable cost, and very efficient.
Make a recording
The recorder is easy to use.
First, you should select the recording quality:
- either 24 bits which is nice for post processing,
- or 16 bits which is sufficient if you just want to replay the recording
The audio format used by our software is standard uncompressed WAVE.
The recorder shows the device’s total available space for storing your recording:
- To start a recording, press the button
- Then the recorder is recording, and it shows the length recorded as min:sec
- Also, the microphone button shows the recorder state, with an animation so that you don’t forget the recorder is on:
Play your recordings
Share or export your recordings
- From the recording list, you can share a recording with ios_share.
- On iOS, you can get the whole recordings folder of your device from a computer. When you plug your iPhone or iPad to your computer, open your iPhone in the Finder, then Files, then iTabla Studio: Here, select the recordings folder, and drag & drop it into a location in your computer.
- Use an equivalent tool for Android.
Notes
In case of a battery shortage during a recording, or an unattended event which stopped the app, iTabla Pandit Studio Pro will attempt a recovery of the recorded file, and present it to you in the recordings list.
